IC: Ebonywind: Something is Calling – Part IV
Posted by: Nauloera in IC: Ebonywind, In CharacterFrom Orgrimmar I traveled to Stonard. It seemed the right direction to go. At the small post in the Swamp of Sorrows there was a sense of urgency in the air. They had no work for me, and little time to spare for explanation, but I was directed to the Blasted Lands. That barren wasteland where the Dark Portal looms over the landscape.
A camp had been set up near the portal. While it seems activity has been going on there for some time, there was a need for reinforcements to travel through the portal to aid in the battle in Outlands. With no other direction, I volunteered. When I stepped through that gateway the strange sky caught my eye first. It swirled with darkness and power. A battle raged between the Burning Legion and forces from Azeroth below the entry but this was not where I was wanted.
I was ushered to a wind rider and flown to an outpost on Hellfire Peninsula called Thrallmar. Here I was needed. With a few provisions and even fewer instructions I was pressed into service. I had no time to wonder about the nagging feeling in the back of my mind. Every hand was needed to help reclaim this barren waste.
I could feel no life in the land. As if it had been stripped away. Huge demonic machines wandered the area seeking those unwary of their presence to destroy. When one attacked Thrallmar, I threw myself into the battle. My skills, meager as they were, seemed to help little, though the beast was defeated.
The work here is like nothing I have seen before. The need great and every task urgent and important. Is this where I have been called? I remember my Spirit Journey so long ago. In that vision I fought demons to defend my family. Is this the road I was meant to follow all along? To this demon-infested land once called Draenor?
