Instead it seems Northrend has been beaten with the ugly stick. No… let me rephrase that. Northrend has been raided by the entire damn ugly forest! And it wasn’t even a very imaginative forest either!

Sure, I haven’t explored the whole thing. I haven’t seen all the drops, all the quest items, even all of the crafted items. I only managed to reach level 74 before I had to take some time off. But let me share with you what robes I collected for my little priestess in that time…..

If you hover your mouse over the picture it will tell you the names of the robes. Seven of these robes are quest rewards. I had thought to take solace in tailoring, however the Frostwoven Robe is the first Northrend tailored robe that can be made.

To say I am disappointed in the lack of variety in the clothing is a massive understatement. I’ve inflicted my very heated opinions on a number of my friends. But honestly. How hard is it to put a bit of variety in the robe designs? I understand re-using a model a couple times to save some labor but this is a bit out of hand. And these are just the robes I’ve collected SO FAR. I know there are more. I’ve seen them on others, I just haven’t had my hands on them yet.

Please, for the love of Pete, Blizz! Give us SOMETHING! Just one designer, part time, for clothes. Please? Or are you trying to encourage us to sell this crap to the vendors?  I saved every quest reward robe I’ve come across since arriving in Northrend for this article. Look up! You’ll see them all! After taking pictures, I did sell them to a vendor. Because I know I WILL GET MORE OF THE SAME FURTHER ON.

I suppose I should look for skirts. Maybe I can find something among skirts…..

With all of the hullabaloo going on about Wrath, I’ve kinda stayed out of it. Those that know me know that I’ll watch the trailer, go “Ooooo, pretty,” then remain blissfully ignorant until release. I don’t dig into talent trees, new spells, new gear and new raid instances I’ll never see. It’s too depressing.

What does release of Wrath mean to me?

It means once again I’ll be left behind as those I know rush headlong to hit 80. It means more instances I’ll never see and even less chance of getting to see any raid content because the raiders are abandoning BC instances already in anticipation of Wrath. It means there will be less random RP as everyone grinds through new levels, new dailies, new rep grinds. There will be a swarm of Deathknights blanketing the server. I wonder how many variations of the name Arthas we’ll see?

Are there any bright spots?

They’re putting in a salon so you can give your character new hairstyles. Well, so you can give your character some of the hairstyles existing races are already wearing. /sigh

When it was first announced there was a bright spot. They even announced it at Blizzcon that there would be new dances. Do you know what has come out about that since then?

Nothing.

Not a pip, peep, whisper. Nothing. What happened to making something a little less stupid, Blizz?

What about the new places to see?

It will probably be a while before I see any of that. Working two jobs just trying to make ends meet doesn’t leave lots of gold laying around for expansions. I’ll log in when I can, chat a little with friends when they aren’t too busy, then log out. But I won’t be missing much. Even if I were going to get the expansion, I had decided long ago not to roll a deathknight. No interest there for me at all. I have three level 70s and a 66 that I don’t have time for. I don’t relish the thought of jumping in with a shadowknight – oops, I mean deathknight, at 55 and having to make the push again.

Am I being cynical? Depressive? Such a downer about the new stuff! Yeah. I am. More stuff I’ll never see, more time my friends will be gone to new raids, new quests, new this and that and too busy to chat.

I am probably the only WoW player that is NOT looking forward to the release of Wrath.

Hey moron, yeah you. The one with the knuckles dragging the ground. The sad part is, you are truly stupid enough to believe that the way you play the game is the “only” way it was meant to be enjoyed. That’s like saying the only way to eat chicken is fried because you like it that way.

Pinhead. Go spend time with the other knuckledraggers. Obviously that’s where you belong.

Or you could learn to role play and PLAY THE GAME THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED. After all, what do you think RPG in MMORPG stands for?

I realize that is an awful long acronym for you so let me spell it out: Massive Multi-player Online ROLE PLAYING GAME.

Okay. Fine. I’ll accept that. If you want to play a character that is an ass, you’re welcome to do so. There is no law, though, that says I have to interact with a character that is an ass.

Actions have consequences. If your character is going to be an ass to those around her, don’t get your tail bent when others don’t want to interact with her. I choose to avoid unpleasant people IRL. Why would I associate with them in game. This is supposed to be fun. Putting up with someone who is a jerk, even if it is IC, is not fun.

Now people will often advise you to /whisper the person you are interacting with and tell them it’s all IC. This does not make the character any less unpleasant.

I’m sure there are some people out there that enjoy interacting with asses. I am not one of them.

Don’t get upset if my character snubs your unpleasant character. After all, it’s IC, right?
